Here is a quick synopsis of the week full fashion and fashion statements.
doweshowbellyad=0; Model in a GABA creation (TOI Photo) More picsA quick synopsis of the week: some of my favourites were, Nachiket Barves appliqu coat dresses; a black Swarovski mini of Rakesh Agarwal; Chanderi tunic with capris of GABA; red beaded dress of Nandis; fish scale dress of Sabyasachi; textures used by Anjali Javeri; Kalamkari work of Asmita Marwa; seamless dresses of Anuj Sharma; JJs silhouettes and parandis; and, of course, the turbans used by Narendra Kumar! Not to mention the international glam quotient as being represented by Jade Jagger, and the host with the most, Mehul Choksi, whose Gitanjali Lounge was the hotspot for all of LFWs celeb guests.
Trends definitely veered towards romance in a big way. Roses, ruffles, frill, trailing tulles were largely seen. Fluid cuts as well as trophy silhouetted jackets were strutted on the ramp. Less embroidery but a bit of Ombre embroidery, a dying art was restored. Vivek Kumars attitude, Sonam Dubals spiritualism, Nilanjan Ghoshs fight for the old, RAs fantasy lady called Rose, Kiran Uttam Ghoshs ideas of perception, Manish Aroras goodwill, Jasleen Kochar and Jenjum Gadas fight against pollution, Vivek of Viias finish and Sabyasachis stardom were some of the other aspects that turned me on. Nina Manuel, Moni Dutta, Amrit Maghera and Lisa Haydon were my favourite female models and Tarun Arora and Niketan Madhok my favourite males. I loved Bandana Tiwaris red Marni trench. Tight fight between the two cozy twosomes, Saif-Kareena and Anil-Sabina Chopra who were seen tete-a-teting in corners. A great fashionable week, and remember always, my dears, fashion is about being noticed!
